Tips:
Team EnVyUs (11/4 bet365) vs. OpTic Gaming (2/7 SkyBet) – 4:30PM PST
Second place Team EnVyUs will be looking to tighten the gap at the top of the CWL with a win over current leaders OpTic Gaming this week. EnVyUs have demonstrated solid performances throughout the first 7 weeks of stage 1, marking a return to form for veteran pro-player duo, ACHES and TeePee. With a 10-4 win/loss record, EnVyUs sit only 2 match wins behind OpTic. Overcoming the fan favourites won’t be easy though. The last time these two teams met in the World League, OpTic edged out a 3-2 win and are currently riding a 5 win streak in the CWL, including victories over top teams Rise Nation, CompLexity and FaZe Clan. EnVyUs will also need to look past a tough loss last week, which saw third place FaZe Clan take the series in swift 3-0 fashion. To make matters worse for the Boys in Blue, OpTic Gaming eliminated EnVyUs from the finals of the online Challenger Cup last weekend.
This match will likely boil down to the teams’ mentalities on the day. OpTic Gaming remain the uncontested number one online team in North American Call of Duty, but EnVyUs have a serious point to prove. It’s always unwise to underestimate OpTic’s raw skill, but as multiple recent disappointing LAN performances have shown, the green wall can crumble under pressure. And the pressure doesn’t get any higher than when OpTic go gun-to-gun with long-time rival, ACHES. ACHES is hungry, looking to prove he can still bring in the silverware after a disappointing Advanced Warfare season. OpTic are expected to take the win here, but EnVyUs won’t go down without a fight and they might just be worth the gamble.

H2K (24/5 Betway) vs. FaZe Clan (1/7 Bet365) – 7:30PM PST
Despite a strong start to Stage 1 with 3 consecutive wins, H2K have fallen off significantly as the season has progressed. With only 2 victories in their last 11 CWL matches, H2K remain in threat of relegation sitting in 9th place with a disappointing 35.7% series win percentage. Despite their recent struggles in the league, H2K have flourishes of brilliance. No one should forget UMG South Carolina’s major upset where H2K dismantled “god-squad” OpTic Gaming, perhaps signalling a turn in the team’s fortunes. H2K still have much to fight for. A win would see the squad potentially jumping above Luminosity and into the top 8, landing a spot in Stage 1 Finals. On the other end of the spectrum, FaZe Clan have recently found form after picking up several losses mid-season to lower performing teams Team Kaliber and TSM. FaZe will be hoping to build upon their four match win-streak, fighting off Rise Nation in the battle for third place.
FaZe Clan come into this match as clear favourites, and considering the squad’s recent string of good performances online, we don’t expect H2K to cause FaZe too much trouble. With dominant performances in respawns, expect FaZe to take the Hardpoint, CTF and Uplink game-modes. H2K may manage to snatch the Search and Destroy, but ultimately they will need to take at least 1 respawn map, a feat rarely achieved against the Red Militia.
