Finally, after a long mid-season break, the return of the CoD World League (and importantly, betting) is here. Ladbrokes are the first to start offering odds on Stage 2, so we’ll be taking a quick look at the matches on offer and giving our two cents along the way.
Millenium (1/33, Ladbrokes) vs. LDLC (9/1, Ladbrokes)
Well, this one is interesting to say the least. Remember the TCM roster? Well, LDLC bought that squad after selling their own team to Supremacy. With a slight reshuffle, the full roster is now ShAnE, Watson, Niall and Bran. While they may not have had the best of luck last in Stage 1, the addition of Watson over SunnyB could prove critical. With top performances and even a brief period in North America, Watson’s one to watch. At 9/1, they’re not a bad bet. We certainly wouldn’t recommend backing Millenium at 1/33.
HyperGames (1/4, Ladbrokes) vs. Exertus (5/2, Ladbrokes)
This is another tough one. HyperGames have a solid roster with Zed, Nolson, Quiker and Braaain, while Exertus are considerably less experience with Desire, Dqvee, Carbines and Vortex. The Exertus squad did manage to take a map off of Millenium last night, but we don’t see them overcoming HyperGames today.
Epsilon eSports (1/5, Ladbrokes) vs Vitality (3/1, Ladbrokes)
There are a few more roster changes to talk about here too. Epsilon now feature Reedy and Moose, with newcomers SunnyB and SKRAPZG. We’re yet to see how this squad will perform, but there are certainly some top players on their roster. Vitality have stuck with Gotaga, Wailers, Riskin and Broken. While they are certainly some of the most famous players in Europe, Stage 1 was tough for Vitality. Given the uncertainty behind Epsilon’s new squad, you should be careful before putting too much faith in them too. Vitality have a big advantage having been a squad for so long, which might just carry them to the win. At 3/1, they could be a solid bet.
SPLYCE(1/7, Ladbrokes) vs Giants Gaming (4/1, Ladbrokes)
This season, SPLYCE move forward with a roster of Joee, Joshh, Bance and Rated. This is a well balanced squad with plenty of experience in the league. Add to that their recent 3-0 win over Supremacy, and you’ve got fairly good reason to believe they could take the match. Giants will be moving forward with a roster of Tojor, Lgend, MethodZ and Sammy. With minimal changes, we’ll likely see similar performance throughout Stage 2. Giants certainly have flashes of brilliance, but we doubt this will be enough to land them the win.
