We’re back again with another run down of today’s European Call of Duty World League matches. What a start to Stage 2 we have had. If we were told at the start of Black Ops 3 that Vitality would be sitting dead last, and HyperGames topping out the league with an unbeaten record, we would have called you crazy. But here we are. European Call of Duty has been totally shaken up, and this week might be a good time to take a punt on some underdogs.
Millenium (1/10, Skybet) vs. Exertus eSports (11/2, Skybet)
Certainly among the underdogs to watch this week are Exertus. Sure, Millenium sit in 5th place, while Exertus are currently 8th, but they only have a 2 win advantage going in to this match. It has actually been a fairly rough Stage 2 for Millenium online. All of their wins have come against fairly poorly performing teams (with the exception of Epsilon). To make matters worse, we’ve seen squads like Vitality (who are yet a win a match this stage) going to map 5 with Millenium. Exertus have a similarly poor record, but also have wins over Vitality and 3rd place Epsilon.
It’s still worth noting that Exertus did open this season with a loss to the boys of Millenium. Sure, it was the first match of the season and things were still a bit shaky, but it can’t be ignored. We certainly don’t expect Exertus to roll through Millenium, but they have a real chance today. There is no way Millenium are a good bet at 1/10, but Exertus could easily upset today, and we’d certainly say they are a wildcard worth playing.
Recommended Bet: Exertus eSports (11/2, Skybet)
Team Infused (1/9, Skybet) vs. Giants Gaming (5/1, Skybet)
As we said, you’ve really got to be looking for underdogs this week. Every game today is a total mis-match, giving you pretty slim margins on any of the favourites. We’ve got a sneaky suspicion that Giants Gaming are another team who are lacking a bit of attention from the bookies. Again, Team Infused only hold a 2 match-win advantage over Giants, though the odds don’t seem to reflect this. Giant’s also hold some notable victories, such as a 3-1 win over Millenium. Infused are coming off the tail end of back to back losses, which will have given a hit to their confidence moving forward.
Again, it can’t be ignored that Infused have previously bested Giants this season. They also haven’t yet lost to a team below them in the league. But at 5/1, Giants hold a good chance of causing a few problems which may make them worth a shot. Players like Tojor can always show up when needed, and (especially if they hold host advantage) this team can definitely cause a few problems.
Recommended Bet: Giants Gaming (1/5, Skybet)
