MLG Anaheim may be behind us, but that certainly won’t be slowing down the Call of Duty World League action. After a weekend of mixed success, the European heavyweight teams have flown back from California and are back for another week of some of the best match ups we’ve seen so far in Stage 2. This week, we’ve got top matches between Millennium and HyperGames, as well as Splyce and Epsilon. The combination of fan favourites versus top of the league opens up some great opportunities for betting, so let’s take a look at the odds this week.
Millenium (1/1, Skybet) vs Hyper Games Team (8/11, Bet365)
When popular teams match up against the very best in the league, you can often find yourself some great value. While this match will almost certainly be close, you wouldn’t be able to tell that these odds are for a match between Hyper Games in 1st place (12-1), and Millennium all the way in 6th place (7-7). There are a few factors to consider in this match. If we take a look at the history between these two teams, Hyper Games hold the slight edge, having beaten out Millennium earlier this season in a close 3-2 match. Hyper Games have also held up a fantastic record all season, going 12-1 so far, in a record which would make OpTic Gaming jealous.
You still can’t count out Millennium entirely. Besides a loss to Infused, their recent performance has been admirable. Add to this a fairly impressive showing against some of North America’s best teams over the past weekend, and you might think Millennium have the ability to take the match. Given their long flights home and weak online performance, however, we’ll be giving the nod to a fairly good value HyperGames.
Recommended Bet: Hyper Games Team (8/11, Bet365)
Splyce (4/6, Skybet) vs Epsilon eSports (11/10, Bet365)
This is another interesting matchup. First, let’s take a look at what we’ve got going for Splyce. Firstly, they had a pretty good weekend in Anaheim, taking out teams such as Lethal Gaming and Cloud9 Eclipse, though they couldn’t make it to the top 8 having fallen out of the competition in a very close match with FaZe Clan. They also hold a better record than Epsilon this stage, though they did recently lose in a very surprising 3-0 loss to 9th place LDLC.
Epsilon also lost their most recent match, though this was a much more respectable 3-2 loss to Team Infused, who have also been putting in stellar performances all season and matched up well against the North American teams.
This match really could go either way. Given that, we’d say to go with Epsilon on this one. They’ve not had a week of travelling to deal with and come in as the better value option.
Recommended Bet: Epsilon eSports (11/10, Bet365)
