Another week has rolled around, and we’re back with some more fresh baked tips for this week’s European CoD World League matches. This Thursday we’re being treated to two massive matchups with Infused, Millenium and Epsilon facing off, as well as a a touch of action from dead last place Team Vitality. We’ll be skipping over that match for team and focusing on the today’s headline games.
Millenium (11/10, Skybet) vs Team Infused (4/6, Skybet)
What an interesting match we have on our hands to open up the action today. From the outset it probably looks like it’s Infused to lose, but there are a few more factors we should look at before jumping straight in. There’s plenty reason to be positive about Millenium’s chances. Although they do currently sit in 7th place in the league (which does set them up for entry into the relegation tournament in a few weeks time), they do sit with a fairly respectable win/loss record of 50%. Similarly, they currently hold a map win/loss record of 52%. Infused certainly hold the favourable record at 67% match win/loss, but hold a notably lower 61% map win loss, just 9% higher than Millenium.
That’s probably about the end of the good news for Millenium fans, however. While the squad did beat LDLC 3-0 yesterday, they also struggled against the mediocre side of Giant’s last week to scrape through with a 3-2 win. Previous to this, Millenium have recently been losing to a whole host in mid-tier teams such as Exertus and Synergy. Given the odds right now, we have to give Infused our recommendation. Until Millenium can find their footing once more, it’s going to be a struggle back to the top.
Recommended Bet: Team Infused (4/6, Skybet)
Team Infused (8/11, Skybet) vs Epsilon Gaming (1/1, Skybet)
Well, well, well. It doesn’t get too much bigger than this. These teams almost couldn’t be closer in the league. Epsilon are currently just edging out Infused by a hair, going 9-4 overall. Infused are right on their tail at 8-4 and will be looking to make up the difference today. They’re also only a few maps behind in map count. With these teams so close overall, it’s best to take a look at their most recent performances. Taking a look back through the season, it seems that Infused’s matches can be split into two categories, with top tier teams on one side, and the mid-to-low tier teams on the other. Infused appear to have no problem sweeping aside easier teams, hardly dropping a map through stage 2 with the exception of Exertus (who 3-0’d the squad last week). It appears that it is this consistency against lesser competition which has earned them the 4th spot in the league. When we look at matches against tougher competition such as HyperGames, Splyce and, importantly, Infused. Infused also struggle against the very top competition, but fair much better against teams such as Exertus.
Both of these squads are extremely talented and have the potential to make some noise at Stage 2 finals. Given the shakiness of Infused against tough competition though, we’re going to give this one to Epsilon.
Recommended Bet: Epsilon Gaming (1/1, Skybet)
