Week six has arrived, and it seems we’re closing out the this weeks action with some of the biggest mismatches we’ve seen so far. This probably isn’t helped by the fact that 8th place (out of just 10 in Europe) squad Giants Gaming, and 9th place Team LDLC are facing off twice in one day. They’ll be matching up with each other, as well as either 2nd place Splyce, or 3rd place Team Infused. It’s going to be a rough day for each, but lets take a look if there’s any value to be had this afternoon.
Giants Gaming (1/3, Skybet) vs Team LDLC (9/4, Skybet)
It’s been a rough season for both of these squads. As mentioned, Giants Gaming are sitting in 8th place and facing the significant looming threat of relegation with just 3 weeks to go in Stage 2. They hold just 3 wins out of 10 matches, and maintain a map win/loss record of 36%. This still compares favourably to Team LDLC in 9th place. In 10 matches played, they’ve managed only a single victory against France’s Team Vitality (who are currently attempting to mirror the “success” of PuLse Gaming from stage 1). To back this up, they hold a depressing 8-27 map win record, nearly rivalling that of Vitality.
While we don’t hold out much hope for Giants chances this season, we certainly don’t see the Spanish squad dropping this match. Given that their competition are also French, connection shouldn’t hinder their chances too much.
Recommended Bet: Giants Gaming (1/3, Skybet)
Besides from this match, we’re going to have to put faith in an underdog to find any good value through the rest of the day. Given that the Giants vs LDLC is the first match of the day, it may be worth waiting to see how each team performs before betting in the later matches. Thankfully, Skybet no longer suspends betting immediately before the match, and allows for betting after each individual map. We would pay particular attention to the Giants vs Splyce match. If Giants get some good momentum going, they might have a fair chance of taking the match at 9/2 (Skybet). On the other hand, if Team LDLC come out and surprise us all, they might be worth a wild card bet at 8/1 (Skybet) against Infused.
It’s going to be a big day for each of these underdog teams, each looking to get a much needed win in their campaign to reach stage 2 finals, which may be vital for qualification to the $1.3 million Call of Duty Championships at the end of the year.
