TCM Gaming (9/5, Ladbrokes) vs exceL eSports (2/5, Ladbrokes)
On a day full of mismatches, TCM vs exceL is about as close a match you’ll see on the final day of the EU CoD World League. TCM need a win to avoid landing themselves in the relegation tournament, just 3 weeks away. They’ll also need both Vitality and Giants Gaming to lose their Wednesday matchups against Infused and Splyce respectively.
There are a few reasons to have a little faith in the TCM squad. ExceL have nothing to play for. At 9 wins and 7 losses, exceL have solidified a 5th place finish in Stage 1. Meanwhile, TCM have everything on the line going into this match. It also doesn’t hurt the English squad’s chances that last time they faced off against exceL, they took the match 3-2.
That’s where the good news ends, though. With only 5 map wins in their last 6 matches, TCM have slumped hard in the closing weeks of the EU league. That translates into a full 6 match losses in a row. There are also questions to be asked of TCM’s experience of such high pressure situations.
Don’t expect TCM to roll over, but we prediect exceL eSports to take this one pretty easily given recent performances.
Recommended Bet:
exceL eSports to win with Ladbrokes at 2/5 (1.40)
SPLYCE (2/9, Ladbrokes) vs Giants Gaming (14/5, Ladbrokes)
Beyond TCM’s match, good value bets are hard to find considering how heavily mismatched most of the series are. But, if anyone can pull of an upset on Wednesday, it will be Giants Gaming who will be facing off against Splyce. What gives us faith in Giants Gaming? Well, a win will likely see them avoid relegation and land them a spot in Stage 1 Finals, so we expect Giants to be firing on all cylinders. Splyce however are playing for seeding alone, and may not have their heads in the game. It’s certainly not a sure thing, but at 14/5 Giants Gaming might be worth the risk if you’re feeling lucky.
Recommended Bet:
Giants Gaming to win with Ladbrokes at 14/5 (3.80)
Whatever happens, the EU World League finale is sure to be filled with drama and you’d be a fool to miss it. Just a quick reminder, the Stage 1 Relegation Tournament will take place on Friday 24th March, with Stage 1 Finals taking place on the 25th/26th. We’ll see you then.
